This degradation is vital for the proper progression of the cell cycle, ensuring that cells divide accurately and at the right time. Dysregulation of Cdc20 can lead to improper cell division and has been implicated in various cancers, making Cdc20 an important target for research in cell cycle dynamics and cancer biology. Cdc20 transcript is readily detectable in various cultured cell lines during the growth phase, but expression diminishes when cell growth is chemically arrested, highlighting Cdc20′s role in cell proliferation. |
