Bak′s ability to enhance apoptotic processes is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and eliminating damaged or unwanted cells, which is essential for tissue health and development. Bak is predominantly located in the mitochondrial membrane, where Bak interacts with other pro-apoptotic and anti-apoptotic proteins, thereby influencing the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis.
