Product Description

Bag-3 also known as BIS is a 575 amino acid protein characterized by a C-terminal Bag domain and two N-terminal WW domains. This unique structure allows Bag-3 to interact with the ATPase domain of HSP 70, effectively inhibiting HSP 70′s chaperone activity and promoting the release of HSP 70-bound substrates. Such regulatory function maintains cellular protein homeostasis and prevents misfolded protein accumulation, which can lead to cellular stress and apoptosis. Bag-3′s role in cell cycle control and anti-apoptotic properties suggest potential contributions to tumor progression, making Bag-3 an important target for cancer research.
