Product Description

FE65 also known as APBB1 is a member of the Fe65 protein family. FE65 plays a crucial role in the processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP), which is essential for understanding Alzheimer′s disease pathology. FE65 interacts with the cytoplasmic tail of APP, specifically binding to the YENPTY motif, which is vital for the regulation of APP trafficking and the subsequent secretion of β-Amyloid. This interaction not only enhances the translocation of APP to the cell surface but also influences cell motility through its association with Mena, a cell-adhesion protein. FE65 is predominantly expressed in the brain, particularly in regions such as the hippocampus and isocortex, and Fe65 localization to the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus underscores its importance in cellular signaling pathways related to neurodegeneration.
