Product Description

Galectin-1 also known as LGALS1 is a crucial protein that plays a significant role in regulating cell proliferation, particularly in maintaining the G0 phase and controlling the transition through G2, which is essential for proper cell cycle progression. Galectin-1 features a single internal EcoRI site and a polyadenylation signal, which are important for stability and expression. Galectin-1 can be found in both intracellular and extracellular environments, highlighting versatile roles in various biological processes. Expression of galectin-1 occurs in several human tissues and cell lines, including placenta, lung, HL-6, HepG2, and CEM cells, underscoring importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
