T-Cadherin also known as Heart Cadherin, Cadherin 13, CDH13 is a member of the cadherin superfamily.  T-Cadherin plays a crucial role in cell adhesion and is essential for maintaining tissue integrity and morphogenesis. T-Cadherin is primarily located in the plasma membrane of cells, where T-Cadherin facilitates cell-cell interactions through a large extracellular domain containing five homologous repeats that contribute to binding specificity. T-Cadherin′s intracellular domain interacts with various cytoplasmic proteins, including catenins, which are vital for linking cadherins to the actin cytoskeleton and regulating adhesive properties. Reduced expression levels of T-Cadherin have been associated with breast cancer progression, indicating T-Cadherin′s potential role as a tumor suppressor.
