Product Description

CD2AP(CD2 associated protein) is a scaffolding molecule that regulates the actin cytoskeleton. CD2AP plays a crucial role as a cytosolic adaptor molecule that interacts with the intracellular portion of CD2 during T cell activation, facilitating cell adhesion through CD2-mediated binding to ligands on antigen-presenting cells. This interaction enhances antigen-specific T cell activation, promotes cell clustering, and induces cytoskeletal polarization, which are essential processes in the immune response. CD2AP is predominantly expressed in the liver, thymus, and spleen, and CD2AP structure includes three Src Homology 3 (SH3) domains that are critical for binding to CD2.
