Product Description

DGAT1(Diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1) also known as ARGP1 is an multipass transmembrane protein that functions as a key metabolic enzyme. DGAT1 plays a vital role in lipid metabolism, particularly in the conversion of excess carbohydrates into triglycerides, which are essential for efficient energy storage. The proper functioning of DGAT1 is critical for various physiological processes, including intestinal fat absorption, lipoprotein assembly, and adipose tissue formation. Notably, DGAT1 is predominantly expressed in adipose tissue, where DGAT1 contributes to basal triglyceride synthesis, and DGAT1 absence in mice leads to increased energy expenditure and resistance to obesity.
