Product Description

p300 also known as KAT3B, EP300 is a critical transcriptional co-activator involved in regulating gene expression by modifying chromatin structure and facilitating the assembly of transcriptional complexes, which is essential for processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Located primarily in the nucleus, p300 plays a pivotal role in gene regulation by interacting with various transcription factors and nuclear receptors, thereby influencing numerous cellular pathways and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Structurally, p300 is characterized by multiple domains, including bromodomains and HAT (histone acetyltransferase) domains, which are crucial for acetylating histones and other proteins, thereby modulating gene accessibility and transcriptional activity.
