| Product Description | |
TXNIP also known as VDUP1 is a thioredoxin-binding protein that is a member of the alpha arrestin protein family. TXNIP plays a crucial role in cellular stress responses, being upregulated by 1,25(OH)2D3 in reaction to oxidative stress, ultraviolet radiation, and heat shock. TXNIP acts as a natural antagonist of thioredoxin, contributing to tumor suppression by inducing cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase, which is vital for preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Additionally, TXNIP is essential for the expression of CD122 and the maturation of natural killer (NK) cells, although TXNIP has a minimal impact on T and B cell development. |
