This function is vital for maintaining proper immune responses and ensuring the differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells into functional lymphocytes. Ikaros is primarily expressed in the thymus and spleen, where Ikaros protein is essential for the transcriptional regulation of T cell-specific genes and the commitment of early hematopoietic progenitors to the lymphoid lineage. |
