Annexin A1 aslo known as Annexin I, ANXA1 is a pivotal member of the annexin family of calcium-binding proteins, playing a crucial role in cellular processes like endocytosis, exocytosis, and cellular adhesion through its calcium-dependent phospholipid binding capabilities. The function of Annexin I is particularly important in mediating the anti-inflammatory responses elicited by glucocorticoids and in inhibiting cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2), a key enzyme involved in the inflammatory cascade.
