Product Description

Nidogen also known as Entactin, NID1 is a member of the nidogen family of basement membrane glycoproteins. Nidogen interacts with several other components of basement membranes, and may play a role in cell interactions with the extracellular matrix. Nidogen plays a significant role in the structural integrity of basement membranes, which are essential extracellular matrices formed during embryogenesis. These membranes serve as a scaffold for various cellular components, including laminins and collagen IV, facilitating proper tissue organization and function. The interaction of Nidogen with laminin and collagen IV is vital for the assembly and stability of basement membranes, which are critical for processes such as cell adhesion, migration, and differentiation.
