Product Description

ANO1(Anoctamin 1) also known as DOG1, TMEM16A is a 986 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role as a calcium-activated chloride channel, essential for normal tracheal development and various physiological processes. ANO1 localization to both cell membrane and cytoplasm facilitates chloride ion transport across membranes, vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating fluid secretion in epithelial tissues. ANO1 expression is highest in liver, gastrointestinal muscle, and skeletal muscle, and has been implicated in several cancers, including breast, pancreatic, gastric, and uterine cancers, as well as neck, ovarian, and parathyroid tumors, indicating potential role in carcinogenesis.
