Product Description

PKA C-beta also known as PKACB, PKA C-β, PRKACB is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family. PKA C-beta is a catalytic subunit of cAMP (cyclic AMP)-dependent protein kinase, which mediates signalling though cAMP. cAMP signaling is important to a number of processes, including cell proliferaton and differentiation. As part of the PKA holoenzyme regulated by regulatory subunits and A-kinase anchoring proteins (AKAPs),  PKA C-beta contributes to spatially confined signaling within pathways such as CREB-mediated gene expression, MAPK crosstalk, and modulation of insulin and calcium-dependent processes. Altered PKA signaling has been linked to dysregulated cell growth and differentiation, neuronal function, and endocrine/metabolic phenotypes, making PKA C-beta a useful target for dissecting compartmentalized cAMP signaling.
