PI3 Kinase p55γ also known as P55G, PIK3R3 is a regulatory subunit of PI3K. PI3 Kinase p55γ plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly in regulating cell growth, proliferation, and survival, making PI3 Kinase p55γ a significant target for cancer research and therapeutic interventions. PI3 Kinase p55γ is primarily located in the cytoplasm and translocates to the plasma membrane upon activation, where PI3 Kinase p55γ interacts with phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate to initiate downstream signaling cascades. Proper localization of PI3 Kinase p55γ is essential for function, as mislocalization can lead to aberrant signaling and contribute to various diseases, including cancer.
