TWEAKR also known as TNFRSF12A, CD266, FN14 is a member of the TNF family. TWEAKR plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. TWEAKR is primarily located on the surface of smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells, where TWEAKR′s presence is vital for mediating responses to inflammatory stimuli and promoting angiogenesis. TWEAKR′s localization allows for the regulation of vascular development and repair processes, which are essential for maintaining tissue homeostasis and responding to injury. TWEAKR interacts with TRAF1 and TRAF2, which are critical for downstream signaling pathways that influence cell survival and adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins. TWEAKR is highly expressed in the heart, placenta, and kidney, and moderately expressed in the lung, skeletal muscle, and pancreas, highlighting TWEAKR′s importance in various physiological contexts. |
