Product Description

PAX6(Paired box 6) is a crucial transcriptional regulator that plays a significant role in eye development and is essential for the formation of various ocular structures.. PAX6 function is vital, as mutations in the PAX6 gene can lead to severe congenital eye disorders, such as aniridia, characterized by the absence of the iris, which can result in significant vision impairment or blindness. PAX6 is involved in other anterior segment malformations, including Peters anomaly, which is marked by corneal clouding and various adhesions affecting the eye′s structures. Pax-6 gene encodes a transcriptional regulator that binds to specific DNA sequences through its paired-type DNA-binding domain, which consists of two subdomains that work together to regulate gene expression critical for eye development.
