| Product Description | |
Cyclin A also known as Cyclin A1/A2 belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family. Cyclin A plays a pivotal role in the regulation of the eukaryotic cell cycle, particularly during the transition from the S phase to mitosis, making cyclin A essential for proper cell division and proliferation. Cyclin A is primarily located in the nucleus, where cyclin A associates with cyclin-dependent kinases, particularly Cdk2, to facilitate the progression of the cell cycle. Nuclear localization of cyclin A is crucial as cyclin A allows for the timely activation of target proteins necessary for DNA replication and cell cycle progression. Furthermore, cyclin A has been shown to interact with various proteins, including the retinoblastoma protein and transcription factors such as E2F, which are vital for regulating gene expression during the cell cycle. |
