| Product Description | |
Caspase-7 also known as MCH3, CMH-1, CASP7 is a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Caspase-7 play a vital role in the apoptotic process by executing programmed cell death. Caspase-7 primarily located in the cytoplasm that activates in response to apoptotic signals, where caspase-7 translocates to the nucleus to cleave specific substrates, including poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), thereby facilitating the dismantling of cellular components during apoptosis. Caspase-7′s ability to cleave PARP into an apoptotic fragment underscores its importance in regulating cellular responses to stress and DNA damage, making caspase-7 a key player in maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing tumorigenesis. |
