Product Description | |
PPARγ also known as PPARgamma, PPARG is a member of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) subfamily of nuclear receptors. PPARγ plays a crucial role in regulating adipocyte differentiation and lipid metabolism, making PPARγ essential for maintaining energy homeostasis and metabolic health. Located primarily in the nucleus, PPARγ functions as a transcription factor that forms heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) to regulate the expression of genes involved in insulin sensitivity and inflammation. This regulation is particularly important in the context of metabolic disorders, as PPARγ is implicated in conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, PPARγ is known to interact with various ligands, including prostanoids and thiazolidinediones, which can activate transcriptional activity, thereby influencing adipocyte function and inflammatory responses. |
