| Product Description | |
β-Arrestin 1 is a key member of the arrestin protein family, playing a crucial role in regulating G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling by mediating receptor desensitization and internalization. Structurally, β-Arrestin 1 consists of two distinct domains: the N-terminal domain and the C-terminal domain, which together form a bilobal structure that facilitates interaction with phosphorylated GPCRs and other signaling proteins. This structural arrangement is essential for β-Arrestin 1′s ability to scaffold various signaling complexes, thereby modulating diverse cellular responses such as hormone signaling, neurotransmission, and sensory perception. The precise three-dimensional conformation of β-Arrestin 1 allows effective binding to activated receptors, preventing continuous G protein activation and enabling receptor recycling or degradation. |
