| Product Description | |
Aurora A also known as ARK-1, AURKA is a cell cycle-regulated kinase that appears to be involved in microtubule formation and/or stabilization at the spindle pole during chromosome segregation. Aurora A plays a crucial role in cell division by regulating centrosome separation, bipolar spindle assembly, and chromosome segregation during mitosis. Proper Aurora A function is vital for maintaining genomic stability, as errors in these processes can lead to aneuploidy and contribute to tumorigenesis. Aurora A is primarily localized in the nucleus and associates with key components of the mitotic machinery, such as the centrosome and spindle poles, highlighting Aurora A′s importance in the orchestration of mitotic events. Notably, Aurora A expression is significantly elevated in various colon carcinoma cell lines, indicating Aurora A′s potential role as a biomarker for cancer progression. |
