Product Description

Aurora B also known as ARK-2, AURKB is a member of the aurora kinase subfamily of serine/threonine kinases. Aurora B plays a crucial role in regulating centrosome separation, bipolar spindle assembly, and chromosome segregation during mitosis, making Aurora B essential for proper cell division and genomic stability. Aurora B is predominantly localized in the nucleus, where Aurora B associates with distinct components of the mitotic machinery, such as the spindle poles and midbody, highlighting Aurora B′s importance in the orchestration of mitotic events. Notably, Aurora B protein levels peak during the S and G2/M phases of the cell cycle, indicating Aurora B′s active involvement in cell cycle progression, while Aurora B′s unique genetic locus suggests distinct functions compared to Aurora A.
