BAM32 is also known as DAPP1 is a B cell-associated adapter that plays a pivotal role in regulating B cell antigen receptor signaling. BAM32 is primarily located in the cytoplasm but can translocate to the cell membrane upon B cell activation, which is crucial for effective immune responses. BAM32 contains one pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and one Src homology 2 (SH2) domain, allowing BAM32 to interact with phosphoinositides and phospholipase C gamma 2, thereby facilitating downstream signaling pathways. BAM32 is predominantly expressed in the placenta and lung tissues, with additional expression observed in the heart, liver, pancreas, and brain, highlighting BAM32′s importance in various physiological processes. |
