Product Description | |
Survivin also known as BIRC5 is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) gene family. Survivin plays a crucial role in regulating cell division and inhibiting apoptosis, making survivin a vital component in cancer biology, as survivin overexpression is often associated with tumor progression and resistance to chemotherapy. Survivin is primarily located in the cytoplasm and nucleus of dividing cells, where survivin associates with the mitotic spindle during cell division, ensuring proper chromosomal segregation. Survivin localization is significant because survivin not only contributes to the survival of cancer cells but also serves as a potential biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. |
