Product Description | |
Stat5a also known as Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 5A is a critical transcription factor involved in the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, mediating cellular responses to a variety of cytokines and growth factors such as interleukins (e.g., IL-2, IL-3), erythropoietin, and growth hormone. Upon activation by phosphorylation through receptor-associated Janus kinases (JAKs), Stat5a dimerizes and translocates to the nucleus, where Stat5a binds specific DNA sequences to regulate gene expression involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, especially in lymphohematopoietic cells. The proper functioning of Stat5a is essential for normal immune system development and function, and dysregulation has been implicated in various cancers and immune disorders. |
