Product Description | |
Skp2 also known as Skp2 p45 is a member of the F-box protein family. Skp2 plays a pivotal role in regulating cell cycle progression, particularly in G1 to S phase transition, by targeting specific cyclins for degradation. Skp2 primarily resides in the nucleus, interacting with cyclin-dependent kinases and other regulatory proteins to facilitate timely cell cycle progression. Precise nuclear localization of Skp2 enables effective regulation of cyclin levels, maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. Dysregulation of Skp2 has been implicated in various cancers, highlighting Skp2′s importance as a potential therapeutic target. |
