Product Description

SHP-1 also known as SH-PTP1, PTPN6 is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. SHP-1 plays a crucial role in regulating cellular signaling pathways by dephosphorylating tyrosine residues on target proteins, which is essential for maintaining the balance of tyrosine phosphorylation in cells. This regulation is particularly important in hematopoietic cells, where SHP-1 modulates the activity of various signaling pathways involved in cell growth, differentiation, and immune responses. The presence of two SH2 domains in SHP-1 enables interaction with specific phosphotyrosine-containing sites on autophosphorylated receptors, thereby influencing the downstream signaling events that are critical for cellular function.
