Product Description | |
RIP2 also known as CARDIAK, RICK, RIPK2 is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine protein kinases. RIP2 plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis and the activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NFkB), which are essential processes in cellular responses to stress and inflammation. RIP2 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where RIP2 interacts with various signaling complexes, particularly those associated with tumor necrosis factor receptors (TNFR). This localization is vital as RIP2 effectively mediates the signaling pathways that lead to cell survival or death, depending on the context. RIP2 in these complexes facilitates the recruitment of other proteins, such as those in the TNFR-associated factor (TRAF) family, which are critical for the downstream signaling events that determine cellular outcomes. |
