Product Description | |
PDPK1 (3 Phosphoinositide Dependent Protein Kinase 1) also known as PDK1 is a 556 amino acid protein that is ubiquitously expressed and localizes to the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and nucleus, playing a crucial role in various cellular processes. As a master kinase, PDPK1 is essential for phosphorylating and activating a subgroup of the AGC family of protein kinases, which are pivotal in mediating signal transduction pathways that control cell proliferation, survival, and growth, particularly in developing pancreatic beta cells. Additionally, PDPK1 regulates calcium uptake and calcium-activated potassium channels in mast cells, influences chemotaxis and motility in vascular endothelial cells, and is vital for cardiac homeostasis and thymocyte development. |
