Product Description

NPM also known as NPM1, B23 is a multifunctional protein, plays a crucial role in ribosomal assembly and ribosomal RNA transport, essential for protein synthesis in cells. NPM′s nucleolar localization is particularly important for ribosome biogenesis, and disruption in this process can lead to impaired cellular function and contribute to diseases such as cancer. NPM undergoes significant post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation by Cdc2 kinase during mitosis, which regulates activity and protein interactions. NPM′s interaction with various proteins, including karyopherin α and karyopherin β, highlights a role in nuclear transport, making NPM vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and function.
