Product Description

IP3 receptor also known as IP3R-I, IP3R1, ITPR1 is an intracellular receptor for inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. Upon stimulation by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate, this receptor mediates calcium release from the endoplasmic reticulum. Mutations in IP3 receptor cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 15, a disease associated with an heterogeneous group of cerebellar disorders. Multiple transcript variants have been identified for IP3 receptor. IP3 receptor functions as a critical intracellular receptor for inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3), acting as a calcium release channel that mediates calcium signaling in various cell types. This function is essential for regulating diverse cellular processes, including exocrine secretion, energy metabolism, and neuronal activity, making IP3 receptor a vital component in the central nervous system and liver.
