Product Description

Brg-1 also known as SMARCA4 is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins and is similar to the brahma protein of Drosophila. Brg-1 plays a crucial role in the SWI-SNF chromatin remodeling complex, which regulates gene expression through nucleosome structure remodeling in an ATP-dependent manner. This remodeling drives various cellular processes, including differentiation, proliferation, and response to external signals. Brg-1 interacts with other key SWI-SNF complex components, such as Brm (SNF2α), Ini1 (integrase interactor 1 or SNF5), BAF155, and BAF170, forming a functional core that enhances remodeling activity. These interacting proteins stabilize the complex and modulate activity, influencing the cell′s transcriptional landscape.
