Product Description

MEF2A(Myocyte enhancer factor 2A) is a DNA-binding transcription factor that activates many muscle-specific, growth factor-induced, and stress-induced genes. MEF2A plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during muscle cell, neuronal cell, and T cell differentiation, making MEF2A essential for proper development and function in these tissues. MEF2A is primarily located in the nucleus, where MEF-2A acts as a transcription factor by binding to specific DNA sequences in target gene promoter regions. Nuclear localization of MEF2A enables interaction with other transcriptional regulators, such as co-activators and co-repressors, thereby modulating genes involved in muscle development and function. MEF2A forms homo- and heterodimers with other MEF2 family members to enhance regulatory capacity, allowing fine-tuned responses to developmental cues.
