| Product Description | |
Cytokeratin 19 also known as Keratin 19, CK19, KRT19 is a member of the keratin family. Cytokeratin 19 plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and mechanical resilience of epithelial tissues, facilitating cell differentiation and tissue specialization. Located within the cytoskeletal network of the cell, Cytokeratin 19 interacts with other keratins such as KRT8 and binding proteins like plectin and desmoplakin, which are essential for linking the cytoskeleton to cellular junctions and ensuring cellular stability. Cytokeratin 19 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which regulate filament assembly and disassembly, thereby influencing cellular signaling pathways and dynamics essential for processes like cell migration and division. |
