Product Description

CD63 also known as LAMP3, TSPAN30 is a member of the tetraspanin family of proteins characterized by four transmembrane domains, which are essential for the formation of multi-protein complexes involved in cell signaling and adhesion. The structural integrity provided by these transmembrane regions is crucial for CD63′s role in organizing membrane microdomains and interacting with specific integrins, thereby influencing cellular processes such as migration, proliferation, and immune responses. Predominantly located within lysosomal membranes, CD63 translocates to the plasma membrane upon cellular activation, such as during platelet activation, where CD63 plays a key role in phagocytosis and the fusion of lysosomes with phagosomes. This dynamic localization is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and effective immune function.
