TOP1 also known as DNA topoisomerase I, Topo I is a DNA topoisomerase, an enzyme that controls and alters the topologic states of DNA during transcription.  TOP1 plays a crucial role in maintaining DNA structure integrity during cellular processes such as replication, transcription, and recombination.
