Product Description

HSP27 is a member of the heat shock protein family, functioning primarily as a molecular chaperone that assists in protein folding and protects cells from stress-induced damage. HSP27 is predominantly located in the cytoplasm but translocates to the nucleus under stress conditions, highlighting its role in cellular response mechanisms. HSP27′s ability to relocate allows for the regulation of various cellular processes, including apoptosis and cell survival, particularly in response to heat shock, cytokines, and hormonal signals. Notably, HSP27 undergoes extensive post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which enhances chaperone activity and is critical for protective functions during cellular stress. HSP27′s regulation by hormones like estrogen suggests a potential link to tumorigenesis in breast cancer, making HSP27 a valuable target for understanding cancer biology and developing therapeutic strategies.
