| Product Description | |
Phospholipase C-gamma 1 (PLCγ1) is an isozyme of the phosphoinositide-specific PLC family. PLCγ1 plays a pivotal role in receptor-mediated signal transduction by generating second messengers inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate and diacylglycerol from phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, which are essential for various cellular processes. PLCγ1 is predominantly located in the cytoplasm and is widely distributed in tissues such as bronchiolar epithelium, type I and II pneumocytes, and fibroblasts of the interstitial tissue, highlighting its importance in respiratory function and cellular signaling. The interaction of PLCγ1 with actin-regulatory protein Villin, which is tyrosine phosphorylated, further underscores its significance; Villin modulates PLCγ1 activity by altering binding affinity to phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, thereby influencing cellular responses. |
