Product Description

Gp91-phox also known as NOX2, CYBB is a critical component of the NADPH oxidase complex. Gp91-phox plays a vital role in generating reactive oxygen species, which are essential for various cellular processes, including host defense and signaling pathways. gp91-phox is primarily located in the plasma membrane of phagocytes, such as neutrophils and eosinophils, where gp91-phox functions as a surface oxygen sensor that triggers cellular responses to hypoxia. Proper localization of gp91-phox is crucial, as gp91-phox allows for rapid generation of superoxide in response to inflammatory stimuli, thereby facilitating immune response. gp91-phox interacts with other cytosolic proteins, such as p47-phox and p67-phox, which are necessary for assembly and activation of the NADPH oxidase complex.
