Product Description | |
14-3-3 gamma is a member of the 14-3-3 protein family, which plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, including apoptosis, mitogenic signaling, and cell-cycle checkpoints, all vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing cancer progression. 14-3-3 gamma is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where 14-3-3 gamma acts as a scaffolding protein that facilitates interaction between different signaling molecules. Cytoplasmic localization of 14-3-3 gamma allows for rapid modulation of signaling pathways in response to cellular stimuli, ensuring appropriate cellular responses are activated or inhibited as needed. By binding to phosphorylated serine and threonine residues on target proteins, 14-3-3 gamma can influence stability, localization, and activity, thereby playing a pivotal role in regulating key cellular functions. Formation of dimers and interaction with various ligands by 14-3-3 gamma underscores importance in cellular signaling networks, and any loss of expression or dysfunction can lead to a range of pathological conditions, including cancer. |
