| Product Description | |
ERAP1(Endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase 1) is is an aminopeptidase involved in trimming HLA class I-binding precursors so that they can be presented on MHC class I molecules. ERAP1 plays a vital role in processing antigenic precursors for major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I peptide presentation. Specifically, ERAP1 trims peptides to the optimal length of eight to eleven amino acids, which is essential for effective immune recognition and response. ERAP1 is induced by interferon-g and is encoded by the ARTS1 gene located on human chromosome 5q15. In addition to antigen processing, ERAP1 is involved in the inactivation of several bioactive peptides, such as angiotensin II, which may influence blood pressure regulation. |
