| Product Description | |
IRF-4 also known as MUM1 is a member of the IRF family of DNA-binding factors, which plays a crucial role in the immune system as a transcriptional activator that regulates the expression of genes involved in immune responses, particularly in lymphoid cells. IRF-4 is essential for the differentiation of T helper 2 cells and the development of plasma cells, which are vital for antibody production. IRF-4′s ability to bind to the interferon-stimulated response element (ISRE) of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I promoter underscores IRF-4′s importance in modulating immune responses and maintaining immune homeostasis. Additionally, IRF-4 interacts with other proteins, such as PU.1, which further highlights IRF-4′s role in the regulation of gene expression within the immune system. |
