| Product Description | |
ORP1 also known as OSBPL1A is a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, a group of intracellular lipid receptors. ORP1 plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and cellular signaling, particularly in lipid transport within cells. ORP1 is primarily located in the endoplasmic reticulum and can translocate to the Golgi apparatus in response to oxysterol binding, which is vital for maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and facilitating vesicle transport. ORP1 features a highly conserved OSBP-type sterol-binding region and a pleckstrin homology domain, allowing interactions with various lipids, including phosphatidic acid and phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. |
