| Product Description | |
RIG-I also known as DDX58 is a 925 amino acid, interferon-inducible cellular DExD/H box RNA helicase that activates type I interferon (IFN), an important effector of the innate immune system that is sensitive to these dsRNA viruses. RIG-I plays a crucial role in the innate immune response by recognizing viral components, particularly double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), which is a hallmark of viral replication. RIG-I′s ability to detect elevated levels of dsRNA, which are typically low in uninfected cells, is vital for initiating an effective antiviral response. Upon binding to viral dsRNA through its helicase domain, RIG-I transmits an activation signal that leads to the expression of IFN via IκB kinase-related kinases. |
