| Product Description | |
Septin-8 is a member of the septin family of nucleotide binding proteins, originally described in yeast as cell division cycle regulatory proteins. Septin-8 plays a crucial role in the organization of the cytoskeleton and is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where Septin-8 contributes to the formation of higher-order filamentous structures essential for cellular integrity and function. The localization of Septin-8 is particularly important as Septin-8 is involved in various cellular processes such as vesicle trafficking, apoptosis, and cytokinesis, which are vital for maintaining normal cellular activities and responses to stress. Additionally, Septin-8 interacts with other septins, including Septin-5 and cell division cycle related-1 (CDCrel-1), highlighting Septin-8′s role in complex protein networks that regulate cell division and signaling pathways. |
