Product Description

AP-2γ(AP-2gamma) also known as TFAP2C is a sequence-specific DNA-binding transcription factor involved in the activation of several developmental genes. AP-2γ plays a crucial role in gene regulation by binding to specific DNA sequences, thereby initiating transcription of target genes. This function is particularly important in developmental processes and cellular differentiation, as AP-2γ is involved in the regulation of genes associated with the development of ectodermal tissues and the expression of the proto-oncogene c-ErbB-2, which is overexpressed in a significant percentage of breast cancers. AP-2γ interacts with other members of the AP-2 transcription factor family, including AP-2α and AP-2β, forming complexes that modulate gene expression in response to various signaling pathways. AP-2γ regulation of estrogen receptor expression further underscores AP-2γ importance in hormonal signaling and cancer biology, making AP-2γ a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical pathways.
