| Product Description | |
UBC13 also known as UBE2N, BLU is a crucial member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family, consisting of 152 amino acids. UBC13 plays a vital role in the ubiquitination process, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. UBC13 is unique in forming a heterodimer with Mms2 (UBE2V2) to catalyze the synthesis of non-canonical polyubiquitin chains, a process distinct from the typical proteasomal degradation pathway. This unique function allows for the regulation of various cellular processes, including DNA repair, cell cycle progression, and cellular differentiation, contributing to cell survival following DNA damage. |
