Product Description

PLZF also known as ZBTB16, ZNF145 is a member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. PLZF plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation and is involved in the development of various cell types, particularly in the immune system. PLZF structure is characterized by five zinc finger motifs and a broad-complex, POZ (or BTB) domain, which are essential for function as a transcription factor. PLZF BTB/POZ domain facilitates protein-protein interactions, allowing formation of complexes with other transcriptional regulators, thereby influencing gene expression. PLZF has been implicated in the regulation of genes associated with tumor suppression, and dysregulation is linked to several cancers, including acute promyelocytic leukemia, where PLZF forms a fusion protein with retinoic acid receptor alpha (RARA), leading to altered transcriptional activity.
